Total calls for service – Belleville Police responded to 85 calls for service over a 24-hour period beginning at 5:00 am on May 01, 2024 to 5:00 am on May 02, 2024.

 

Domestic Dispute

On the 1st of May at 4:30pm, police received a call to a residence in the city’s east end regarding a domestic dispute.  Upon arrival, police spoke to the involved parties and learned that the dispute became physical.  As a result of the investigation, a 41-year-old male from Belleville was charged with assault.  He was released on an Undertaking with a court date in May.  The name of the accused is not being released in order to protect the identity of the victim.

Breach of Probation and causing a disturbance

On the 1st of May at 8:30pm, Belleville Police received a call to attend a business on Sidney Street regarding a male who was causing a disturbance inside the store.  Upon arrival, police spoke to staff and learned the male had been throwing items around the store, smashed an orange on his head and then proceeded to spray himself with a can of Raid insect killer. As a result of the investigation, a 38-year-old man was arrested and charged with causing a disturbance and two counts of breaching his probation.  He was held for a bail hearing.
