Belleville, Ontario – On March 21st, 2017, at 4:35 p.m. an officer conducted a traffic stop on Pine Street. A check revealed that the licence plates on the car had been reported stolen earlier this month in Belleville. The 31-year-old Belleville man was arrested and during a search a cell phone was recovered. The male had been released on an undertaking with a condition “not to be in possession of a cell phone”. He was charged with possession of stolen property and breach of an undertaking. He will appear in court on April 27th, 2017.

Motor Vehicle Collision
Belleville, Ontario – On March 20th, 2017, at 7:15 p.m. police attended on North Front Street south of Valleyview in relation to a single-vehicle accident. A northbound Dodge Caravan left the roadway and struck a cement light standard. The driver, a 55-year-old Quinte West man was taken to hospital by EMS. He was treated for minor injuries and released. He was charged with careless driving and will appear in traffic court on May 1st, 2017. North Front Street was reduced to a single lane for two hours while Public Works focused on removing the damaged light
