Stolen property

Belleville – On the 29th of March at 10:30 A.M. police took a report from a victim of a residential break and enter that occurred on the 28th of March that some of his stolen property was found at a local pawn shop. While on route to recover the items police received information from the pawn shop that the male who had sold them the stolen goods was back in the store but had just left again. Police located the male a short distance away. Investigation revealed that he was also on a recognizance to be in his residence with the exception of specific reasons. The 38 year old Belleville residence was arrested and is being held for a bail hearing later today on charges of possession of stolen property and breach of his recognizance. Further investigation as to his involvement in the break and enter is continuing as well.

 

Domestic Assault

Belleville – Shortly before noon on the 28th of March 2018 police took a report of a domestic assault. As a result of the investigation police are now looking to arrest a 43 year old Belleville male for assault. No serious injuries were sustained as a result of the assault on the 28th. Names are not being released to protect the identity of the victim.

 

Arson

Belleville – At approximately 2:00 A.M. on the 30th of March police responded to a disturbance call at a west end apartment. Investigation revealed that a 21 year old female attended the residence of her ex-boyfriend and after an argument had taken place, the female sprayed diesel fuel conditioner throughout his apartment and on the stairs inside the apartment building. She then lit the conditioner on the stairs on fire. Another tenant from the building exited his apartment, scaring her off. He then extinguished the small fire that had been started on the stairs. Police located the female as short distance away and arrested her for arson endangering life and breach of probation. No injuries were sustained as a result of the fire. The female suspect is being held for a bail hearing later today.

 

Public intoxication

Belleville – For the second night in a row police had two parties in the cells over night for public intoxication. On the 29th of March police were called to a restaurant in the city’s north end when a 17 yr old Belleville male showed up to work intoxicated and became argumentative with the manager. The male was still on scene upon police arrival and was arrested for public intoxication. Later that same evening while on patrol police came across a 61 year Belleville old male on Bridge St. W. that was falling into traffic. He was also arrested for public intoxication and taken to police cells for the night. Both males were released with fines for public intoxication once they sobered up.
